The Good News
The message of the Cross is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ as found in the Bible:
We Have a purpose: To know God and Glorify Him.
“In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth."
"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."
We have a problem: All men have chosen sin over serving their glorious Creator.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”
We deserve punishment: Eternal separation from God in Hell.
"For the wages of sin is death..."
"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
We are powerless: We cannot save ourselves.
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.”
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves"
We have a pardon: Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
We have a promise: Eternal life in Heaven with God
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
